Serves 4-6
What You'll Need
- 1 packet Workhorse Italian Seasoning
- 1 lb. ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Heat oil in skillet over medium heat
- Add meat; cook until browned
- Drain grease
- Add onion; cook 2-3 minutes
- Stir in seasoning; cook 30 seconds
- Add tomato paste and water; stir until blended
- Add crushed tomatoes
- Cover and simmer 30-60 minutes
Make It Your Own
Serve over pasta or use for lasagna or stuffed pasta shells.
Italian Oil Dip / Italian Bread Butter
Serves 4-6
What You'll Need
- 1 Tbsp Workhorse Italian Seasoning
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 Tbsp softened butter (optional)
- 2 Tbsp grated parmesan cheese
- Crusty bread for serving
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine olive oil, seasoning, and parmesan cheese
- Stir until evenly blended
- For a richer spread, mix in softened butter
- Let sit 5 minutes before serving to allow flavors to develop
- Serve with warm bread, toasted baguette slices, or breadsticks
Make It Your Own

Italian Baked Meatballs
Serves 6-8
What You'll Need
- 1 packet Workhorse Italian Seasoning
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 lb. ground pork
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- Parmesan cheese for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, seasoning, eggs, breadcrumbs, and milk
- Mix until evenly combined
- Form mixture into 1.5-2 inch meatballs, lightly hand-coating them with olive oil
- Place on an oiled baking sheet
- Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through and lightly browned
- Serve with Workhorse Italian Red Sauce and top with parmesan cheese
Make It Your Own
Serve over pasta, pile into toasted hoagie rolls for meatball sandwiches, or finish under the broiler with melted mozzarella cheese and serve with marinara as an appetizer.
Italian Red Sauce (No Meat)
Serves 4-6
What You'll Need
- 1 packet Workhorse Italian Seasoning
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat
- Add onion; cook 3-4 minutes until softened
- Stir in seasoning; cook for 30 seconds
- Add tomato paste and water; stir until smooth and fully blended
- Add crushed tomatoes and parmesan cheese; stir to combine
- Cover and simmer 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally
- Serve over pasta and/or use with Workhorse Italian Baked Meatballs
Make It Your Own
